Waikanae Funeral Home commenced operation in 1978. In 1996 the business was purchased by the current owners Graeme & Loris Rolston.  Since 2000, with the help of their staff member Lloyd Dacombe, they have completely upgraded the facilities to be one of the most modern available.

They have continued to develop their operation with the addition in 2008 of a state of the art environmentally operated crematorium which is situated with a very pleasant bush backdrop within the Waikanae Cemetery.

In September 2008 they took delivery of a 1927 Chrysler vintage funeral coach, rebuilt to their specific requirements, which is used as a front line vehicle offering something different for their client use.

The directors and staff at Waikanae Funeral Home understand that in difficult times when a death occurs in a family, the family need the assurance that all arrangements and decisions are being handled with the utmost dignity and understanding by fully trained and qualified personnel. The company is a member of the Funeral directors Association of New Zealand and has Griefcare accredited status premises.  The company has a commitment to continued education and staff training to enable them to keep abreast of funeral trends.

The Waikanae Funeral Home has:

• Funeral Chapel - seating for 120 people with additional room for larger services if required.
• Recording Facilities - both audio and video recordings are available in the chapel along with CD, DVD, cassette tape and a modern digital organ.
• Data technology - powerpoint presentations compiled by our staff or supplied by family.
• Viewing - providing the opportunity for the bereaved to spend time with the deceased in complete privacy.
• Reception Lounge - to cater for light refreshments.
• Interview Room - for funeral and monumental arrangements.
• Mortuary - full services are provided on the premises.
• Embalming - provided by our fully qualified embalmers.
• Monumental - we are able to advise and provide memorial headstones and plaques in any cemetery to the customers requirements.
• Vintage Hearse - our 1927 Chrysler has been professionally transformed into a modern funeral coach offering a point of difference from other funeral homes.
